Our yoga sessions on our holidays / retreats run for 90 mins in the mornings and 60
mins in the afternoon.
The yoga style is based on Hatha Yoga with slight variations of Iyengar, Sivananda and Ashtanga mixed in during your holiday week.
As you will be practicing yoga during your holiday week, we throw a lot of
new things into the mix, such as pair-yoga (you don't need to bring one along!)
breathing techniques and cleansing postures so hopefully no matter what your
level you are at in yoga, you will learn something new. The retreat week will run like a course and build
up strength and skill as the week progresses. You will certainly notice a huge
difference in your flexibility, breathing and relaxation by the end of the week.
The yoga morning sessions are flowing, dynamic and
get-you-going while the afternoon sessions are more floor-based, restorative and
warm-you-down!
Yoga classes are also tailored towards the activities we have chosen and you will find that the yoga benefits the activities (skiing/diving/hiking etc) and vise versa
Skiing and Yoga Holidays:
Morning retreat classes are designed to warm-up, release and strengthen stiff morning muscles, preparing yourself for a full day of skiing, snowboarding or sledging. Afternoon retreat classes are designed to warm-down, release and relax tired and sore muscles and help to avoid injury. We have studied yoga journals and have come up with the best forms of yoga for mountain action and also include asanas (yoga postures) for areas of the body that are used less in snow sports.
Yoga and Diving Holiday.
Regular yoga practice will both help to extend how long you get from a tank of air, but will also help you to remain calm and focused underwater. yogatraveller offer these courses in conjunction with each other in our yoga holiday, and our trained yoga teachers are also diving instructors too. Through breathing exercises you will learn to get more from your diving experiences and we have discovered that diving enhances your yoga experience too
Meditation
On some of our locations (there's less time available on our skiing/snowboarding holidays) we offer meditation as a complimentary extra. Yoga meditation classes are also fun and informative and we bring you useful and practical tools for dealing with stress and anxiety in your life.
