Cayman Islands - Activities

There is so much to do on Cayman, but if you want to do nothing, the laid back atmosphere here lends itself to that perfectly!

Should you wish to get active, there's lots to do. Cayman Island has some of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean and even the world. With the famous Cayman wall, a deep drop off, it is teeming with all kinds of coral, fish and other marine life. It's a divers mecca, with diveboats leaving every morning to the great number of divesite around the island. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced diver, there is something for everyone and the dive centre attached to the resort can provide courses and guided dives.

There is also great snorkeling on the island and snorkel gear can be easily rented. You can even snorkel right off the beach where we are located.

No trip to Grand Cayman is complete without a visit to Stingray City. This is a half-day boat trip that goes out to a shallow sandbar in the middle of the lagoon. This strange place is home to hundreds of (harmless) stingrays and you can swim with them here. It's exciting and a great trip.

There is amazing shopping on the island and Cayman is a dutyfree location for those wishing to do a bit of spending!

7 mile beach is an amazing place to walk, run or jog. All along the length of the beach there are resorts, hotels, cafes, shopping malls and beach bars. There is loads to see and do on a nice meander along the beach.

There are beautiful remote beaches, bays and coves all around the island, and hiring a car or hoping in a bus can bring you out to your own undisturbed paradise. Rum Point is one of the nicest spots on the island and is a perfect day out.

There is a turtle farm, a marine park and plentiful bike hire, it's a small island and everything is within easy distance!

Of course, lounging on the beach is a favourite past time for most of us staying on the island...!
