Lots to do or do nothing at all...

The Little Yoga Cottage is the perfect place to get away from it all. It is peaceful and quiet with stunning views and is a great place to relax, unwind and refresh yourself completely. If you feel like exploring or getting active however, there is lots to do in the area and we are very happy to help you organise anything you like. Below is a list of what to do in your free-time.

Treatments

We have our own treatment room and are proud to offer you 3 treatments with our fantastic team of therapists: Reiki, Massage and Kinesiology

Reiki - €40

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Michelle first came across the wonderful healing powers of Reiki when she was living in Thailand. She is attuned to level II in the Tera Mai lineage. Sessions last 60 minutes.

Massage - €45

Frankie Parker, our in-house massage therapist, trained at the Manchester School of Massage and holds a VTCT qualification in Swedish and Holistic Massage Therapy. Depending on whether you are seeking treatment for relaxation or if you have a specific area to focus on, Frankie will tailor to your individual needs. Massage is a wonderful way to relax and unwind. Massage helps to reduce stress and tension and relieve tired, aching joints and muscles. A healthy and natural remedy, massage will help improve circulation and digestion, soothes nerves and creates a calming sense of well being. Treatments are 60 minutes with an initial 15 miniute consultation included in the price.

Surfing continued...

Clare has some of the best surfing spots in Ireland. There is a good beach break in Lahinch that is perfect for beginners. There are also various reef breaks running off Liscannor Bay and the famous breaks at Doughmor and Spanish Point. Clare is also home to the famous Aileens wave, so huge and mighty it is vying for the position as one of the world’s biggest.

The beach break in Lahinch is the perfect place to learn or even hone your skills. With a consistent swell the waves are surfable most of the year. With waters that don’t get too cold thanks to the Gulf Stream, surfing has never been as accessible or fun as it is in Clare. We operate in conjunction with Ben’s Surf Clinic, Ireland’s first ISA hardboard approved surf school in Ireland. Ben and his team offer lessons for every level and classroom sessions are conducted in the comfort of your own living room at the Lodge. For more on the Yoga & Surfing weekends/weeks please see the Schedule page.

Hiking

The Burren is one of Europe’s most unique Landscapes, where the views heal your mind and soul. With beautiful views and fields made of angular slabs of karst rock its like a lunar landscape. With extremely rare plants, flowers and animals and a history to rival any fairytale a walk in Burren is an experience of a lifetime. Many people drive through the grassy roads of the Burren, but taking the time to get right out into it, to feel it, is something we strongly recommend. We can help to arrange a hike for you but we recommend giving advance notice if you are planning to hike.

Music

The area is rich in music and has something for everyone. Doolin, a 15 minute drive away is the birthplace of traditional Irish Music and people from all over the world come here to listen, play and record. Some of the greatest trad players of our time got their start in Co.Clare and neighbouring Miltown Malbay hosts the Willie Clancy, week long music festival each year. There are trad sessions daily and no trip to Clare is complete without experiencing one of these. Lahinch is also home to some new and original music, and Kenny’s White Horse Sessions, across the street from the Lodge, is setting the pace with a continually impressive line for such a small quiet seaside village.

Golf

Lahinch has one of the most famous and challenging links courses in the country, probably the world. Set on immaculately preserved sand banks, there are stunning views of the Atlantic and the surrounding countryside. With advance notice we can book you a round for this course but if you'd still like to golf but on something a bit easier you can try the Castle Course which is situated behind the Links Course. You will need to bring your own clubs.
