Morocco - Accomodation

You will be staying at the popular Riad Maison Du Sud. It is located just 300 metres from the sea and right in the heart of the pedestrianised Old City (The Medina). It is an 18th centuary Riad, or (Grand Home) that has been renovated into hotel accommodation in the Moorish style. It is full of nooks and crannies, hidden alcoves and winding stairs and is an establishment favoured by many.

The location is key. It is right in the heart of everything. You are never more than a 5 minute walks from either your Spa appointment or the bustling fish market. The restaurant is popular and at the weekends there is a great buzz around the place as many visitors, both Moroccan and foreign visit in the evenings.

The building is actually 2 large Riads that have been converted into one. There are 2 main dining areas and lots of little smaller secret areas, the place seems to go on and on and takes a few days to get to know well! There is also a really large roof terrace, perfect to lay out on and relax.

The food is excellent, catering to our vegetarian needs, and evening meals are served formally, with starter, main-course and dessert. Everything about the place seems slightly old-fashioned, but this adds to the charm and character, of which Maison Du Sud has in abundance!

All the staff are well trained and eager to please. You will certainly be made to feel at home and no request seems too difficult (or strange).

The rooms are grand and spacious, with many of them having a mezzanine level and separate living space. All the rooms, as is typical with Riad design, open into the large atriums (there are two atriums with the two separate houses converted into one) and the dining areas are found at the bottom of these. The Riad is also an Art Gallery and holds many interesting and exciting pieces of art by local and national artists. The furniture is old and often antique and plants and singing birds complete the picture.

All the rooms are on-suite and serviced daily.
