I'm a female traveller, is there anything a should consider?
Women can expect a certain level of harassment when travelling in Morocco, especially in the busiest areas. It comes in the form of nonstop greetings, leering and other unwanted attention, but it is rarely dangerous. Women will save themselves a great deal of grief by avoiding eye contact, dressing modestly and refraining from walking around alone at night.
Are there local customs to look out for that I should know about?
Morocco is a Muslim country and it is preferable to keep the wearing of swimsuits, shorts and other revealing clothing to the beach or hotel poolside. Women travelling alone will receive less hassle if dressed conservatively.Religious customs should be respected, particularly during the month of Ramadan 11th Aug - Sep 9th when eating, drinking and smoking during daylight hours should be discreet as it is forbidden by the Muslim culture.
What is the international access code for Morocco?
The international access code for Morocco is +212. The outgoing code is 00 followed by the relevant country code (e.g. 0044 for the United Kingdom). Two mobile GSM 900 networks cover the north of the country. Internet cafes are widely available in tourist areas.
Is there a high crime rate in the area I'm going to?
Violent crime is not a major problem in the rural areas.Sensible precautions such as avoiding badly lit streets at night should be adhered to. Guides offering their services should display an official badge from the local tourist authorities.
What tips are expected?
10 to 15% is the usual tipping range although some places include a service charge. Tipping is the only income for some porters and guides and this should be noted by visitors. A supply of small coins is vital for the payment of taxis, tips and guides.
Are there any passport requirements?
A full passport is required with 6 months remaining validity. It may be wise to have a photocopy of the important page(s) to carry around with you as ID should be presented on request and therefore carried at all times.
Will i need a visa to visit the country?
Most nationals will not require a visa to visit Morocco, however, en route you will be presented with a landing card.
Will i need a vaccination to enter Morocco?
No vaccinations are required to enter Morocco. It is advisable to drink bottled water outside the main cities and towns and avoid street food. Medical facilities are good in all major towns. Health insurance is advised.
What is the official language?
Arabic is the first official language but 9 other languages are spoken including Berber, French and Spanish. English is understood in the tourist areas but french is most widely spoken.

What’s the weather like?
The weather in Morocco is dry and sunny most of the year round which can occasionally get windy so make sure to pack some warmer clothes for times like these.
What do I need to bring?
Swimwear, warm clothes and beach wear, spending money, camera, sun cream.
How do I arrange activities?
Your host and teacher will arrange everything for you on arrival. If there is something in particular you would like to arrange before you arrive please email us through the contact form.
Will the retreats always run?
We will run a retreat even if only one or two people are booked. We will let you know group numbers to allow you the option to change dates.
I’m traveling alone, does this matter?
It matters not. You can come to get away from everything but there are plenty of opportunities to meet people if you wish. There is an extra charge for single supplement. Contact for details.
I want to stay extra nights, is this possible?
We can help you to arrange extra nights at all our locations.
When can I check in?
You can check into your room anytime after noon.
How many people are there in a group?
We cater for small groups with no more than 10 to 12.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes and if you plan to dive/ski etc you will need to make sure it is covered by your policy.
I’ve never done yoga before, what happens?
Beginners are welcome and coming for a week's practice is a great way to introduce yourself to yoga.
What times are the yoga classes?
Morning and evening.
How long are the yoga classes?
One and a half hours each.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat with me?
We have mats at all our locations but feel free to bring your along.
What style of yoga will I be practicing?
A mixture of Hatha styles, including ashtanga and sivananda. Classes are dynamic in the morning, more meditative in the evenings.
