Yoga in Thailand (koh ngai & koh samui)

Yoga holidays in Thailand - two stunning locations

Koh Ngai 2008 -Aug 16 /Sep 6 / Nov 1/Nov 15

Koh Ngai defines what a desert island really is. If you're looking for a yoga holiday to truly get away from it all, this is perfect for you. A quiet and peaceful island with crystal clear waters and pristine, white sandy beaches, abundant coral reefs, sunsets and stars. There's not much more than a stretch of white sand and some coconut trees, perfect for your yoga retreat.

Koh Samui 2008 - Aug 2 / Sep 20 / Oct 4 /Oct 18

People have been coming to this beautiful island for decades to practice yoga, detox and heal. We have chosen a peaceful quiet part of the island called Bo Phut for our yoga holiday, but there's so much to do and experience on this island you can either kick back and relax, or dive, snorkel, hike, learn to cook, shop, party or even ride an elephant! Experience island life, beautiful beaches, great restaurants and plentiful spas.

Yoga in Thailand - more about Koh Ngai

Koh Ngai/Hai Island (known by both names) is a tiny island located in Trang province in the Andaman Ocean. Surrounded by karst limestone islands and fringing reef, it is quiet, peaceful and isolated. Spend your day snorkelling right off the resort, relaxing and getting massages or hire a small boat to explore the surrounding islands and find your own private beaches. Trips can be arranged to the Emerald Cave and the little known Koh Kradan and Koh Rok, beautiful islands populated with fishermen and their families.

There are 6 resorts on the island each with different restaurants and it's nice to spend an evening hanging out under the stars with the gentle breeze blowing. There's not much going on at night time so if you're looking for early nights and long leisurely days, this is the trip for you! For information on getting to the island please click here.

Yoga in Thailand - more about Koh samui

Bophut's Fisherman's Village in Koh Samui is a charming seaside town drowning in character and nestled among dozens of boutique guest houses and resorts, restaurants, pubs, traditional Chinese shop fronts and ocean activities. Centered around a narrow and bustling one-way road, Fisherman's Village has quickly become one of the most popular destinations within Koh Samui whilst maintaining its traditional Thai roots.

Resting under the tropical shade of swaying coconut trees and against the translucent Gulf of Thailand waters and modest white sand beach (facing its sister island, Koh Phangang), the Village is the kind of town where you don't need to wear shoes and everyone nods 'hello'. With an abundance of activities there is plenty to offer the adventurous soul but it's also a great place to kick back and unwind.

Yoga in Thailand - The Accommodation

On Koh Ngai you will stay at Thanya Beach Resort. Set on it's own private stretch of beach it is true Robinson Crusoe living! Accommodation is in simple and clean Thai-style beach huts and all rooms come with A/C, hot/ cold water and a fridge. Each bungalow has a veranda where you can sit back with a book. The rooms are clean and simple and each bungalow is handmade with teak wood and decorated in the traditional Thai style. The resort restaurant is absolutely delicious too.

On Koh Samui you will be staying at Carpe Diem hotel. French-run, the
hotel has a luxurious pool, great restaurant and a commanding position
facing the beach. The rooms are well appointed and decorated in modern Thai
style. The hotel is set in a tropical garden and is in a great location for
you to explore the island. The hotel can arrange cookery courses, day-trips
to anywhere on the island (or neighboring islands) and massages & spa services.
