Yogataveller, Gozo, Malta - 4th April 2009 - By: Aubrey Lampkin

With Caroline Le Barbier, Antje Meier, Denise Dowling and Anita Meier.

Another beautiful Yogatraveller week in Gozo. The weather is just starting to make its final lunge towards a hot sultry summer - and we've all been waiting patiently!

Between juicy yoga classes in our awesome subterranean studio, we rented bikes, went on hikes, explored the neighboring villages and the capital city, Victoria (Rabat), went to delicious dinners, had treatments at freespirit spa, went rock-climbing and just chilled out.

I consider myself quite a sporty person, but I had never been rock-climbing before. So I was thrilled to find out one of my students, Caroline, is an experienced rock-climber and wanted to get to know the rocks in Gozo. We called over to Xavier from Gozo Adventures to guide us to the best rock-climbing site in Gozo, and next thing we knew we were dangling from a breathtaking cliff in Mjarr Ix Xini!

Yoga and rock-climbing go together so well!

I can't finish this entry without saying the best sport award goes to Antje, who twisted her ankle on a trip into town mid-week (not doing yoga). Despite the great inconvenience this injury caused her, she kept up a positive attitude the entire time which was such an inspiration to all. Sometimes the most difficult part of our yoga practice is learning to roll with the punches and not to let it get us down, which she was a living symbol of... so proud of her. And the rest of my enthusiastic group, of course!
