Yoga
Yoga is a beautiful way of life.
It helps to balance us in many areas of our lives. It balances our bodies, helpins us to find an equilibrium between strength and flexibility. It balances our minds, helping us to remain grounded in ourselves and finding calmness when we need it most, and it also balances something deep within us, a spiritual yearning.
Nowadays many people are flocking to the yoga mat for many different reasons. For peace of mind, to breathe better, to relax, to tone, to lose weight, to become more flexible, to be stronger. To improve fitness, stamina, endurance. To assist with sports, to heal the back. To release blockages, to know your own body better. All of these reasons are valid and realistic goals when you take on yoga, and when you commit to the practice there is no doubt that you will benefit from all the above.
For whatever reason you feel drawn to yoga, maybe for the simple reason that it makes you feel good (that was my initial reason for pursuing it) go with that and follow your practice wherever it takes you. Yoga will not only give you a better connection with your own body, it will also let you know your own mind better.
Coming soon in this part of the site will be a whole section dedicated to the practice of yoga. We will have information about the different styles and forms of yoga, the history of yoga and the future of yoga. We will have lots of articles relating to the physiology and anatomy of yoga and also the philosophy and spiritual side too. We hope that you can use these pages to learn more, enquire more into this beautiful and ancient practice, and hopefully find something within it that works for you. We would apprecaite any feedback or comments you might have, as well as suggestions. Thank you
So... A Yoga Holiday
A yoga holiday is exactly what it says on the tin. It's a holiday with yoga on it! Enjoy all the other wonderful things you expect from a holiday: a beautiful location, some sun perhaps, nice food, fun activities, good company, new friends and some time to do what YOU want. Add lots of yoga into the mix and you have a perfect Yoga Holiday. During your holiday you will have the chance to develop your yoga practice, or even give yourself an amazing head start if you are a beginner. You practice a stronger class in the morning and a more restorative class in the evening. In between, the time if yours to do as you please. We do arrange lots of things to do and can arrange more, but if you just want to take some time out, lounge around and read a book, then that's ok too. We want you to get exactly what you want, and what you need from you trip. Perhaps you need to relax and sleep more, or perhaps you want to join your host and yoga teacher scuba diving, skiing or snowboarding, rock-climbing or surfing or taking a long walk down a deserted beach.
What kind of yoga do you teach?
This is one of the most common questions we get asked, and there isn't a straight forward answer for it. We don't teach purely one discipline of yoga, but all the yoga on the different yoga holidays follows the same high standard. We chose our teachers for the experience they have in their teaching and practice, their professionality, and their personalities. Our teachers come from all over the world and for them yoga is a way of life. They are continually educating themselves with training and workshops. No matter which location you chose, you can guarantee you will receive expert tuition under the careful guidance of wonderful yoga teacher team. For more details on the specific teachers, we have a webpage dedicated to them, their training, teaching and practice, found within the different destinations.
